80DAYS REVIEW

“Only a few places in France are so beautifully located and as detailly decorated, as Royal Champagne. We think you should stay 4 nights because you’ll have a whole day to explore Épernay and stroll around Avenue de Champagne where loads of the considerable champagne houses lie. On the way, you’ll swing by the cozy Hautvillier, where Dom Perignon is buried. You also must spend a whole day in Reims and visit the fascinating cathedral. And you most definitely should take a day to merely experience Royal Champagne, walk around the vineyards, enjoy the spa and two pools, or sit with a bottle of Leclerc Briant on your terrace. It’s short and sweet and in every way a phenomenal experience! Remember, if you live in Copenhagen, Royal Champagne is not much further than Henne Kirkeby…”

CHAMPAGNE IS THE ANSWER

Couples and everyone who enjoys an impressive hotel with good food, wine, culture, and history will fall in love with Royal Champagne. The hotel is a member of the exclusive “Relais & Châteaux” group and its famous restaurant Le Royal, has a Michelin-star in the bag. Champagne, culture, nature, and culinary experiences are waiting in line and the view from the hotel’s rooms, will lift all weight off your shoulders, and immediately give you peace. A trip here can as an advantage be combined with a couple of days in Paris – the TGV train from Paris to Champagne-Ardenne only takes 40 minutes and is an experience in itself.

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

In the center of the vines, is Royal Champagnes’ long hotel building, which a grand view across the vineyards is blueprinted by Unesco. It is a small hotel with only 47 suites – all with a balcony or terrace and furnished in douche shades, that lead the thoughts to the golden shimmer of champagne. The shelves in the bathroom are stacked with Hermès products, and the stylish rooms bathe in natural light from tremendous windows. Outside the windows, the Marne valleys out folds with a view, that is postcard-worthy.

UNE EXCURSION FANTASTIQUE

If it’s relaxation you need, the days on le Royal Champagne can easily be filled with, enjoying the food, champagne, and view. But the area is destined for outings to vineyards and wine cellars, sailing trips on Marne, and visiting Reims with the famous cathedral, where all kings and emperors have been crowned. In Reims, you can experience the giant underground limestone passages, where millions of champagne bottles are stored. The smiling and welcoming staff in Royale Champagne will gladly arrange bicycle renting, riding, hot air ballooning, golf, and sightseeing in vineyards and in Reims.

WHEN IN FRANCE

It’s not a trip to France without fantastic cuisine. In Royale Champagne, you can enjoy the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Royals’ sophisticated menu, which is a tribute to regional dishes, interpreted with a light and modern touch. The Bistro Le Bellevue creates a large selection of champagne, that’s consumed below chandeliers made of thousands of crystals or on the terrace when the weather allows it. Bellevue’s delectable, French menu offers specialties like fois gras, terrines, and goat cheese from Argonne. There’s also an option for a “Chef’s Table” experience – but remember to reserve it ahead of time.
